WELCOME TO OUR GALLERY OF CLIENT’S MAPPING
We offer five primary mapping styles, as well as our library of London maps, which can be overlaid with client information. Our five styles, 2D, 2D/3D Combination, 3D Modern, 3D Classic and Bespoke are open to client modification and as you can see from our bespoke map samples below, anything can be discussed.
Our ‘3D maps are based upon an axonometric plane* and offered in two versions Modern and the hand-drawn Classic style. The 3D Modern was designed by the Silvermaze duo of Derek Reed & Nick Hawken, it’s positive reception meant it was quickly adopted by other mapping companies. “We sought a design that gave a more realistic rendition of a city or town, was clearer from a visitor perspective and acceptable to professionals like architects and surveyors.”
All our maps are created on layers with the option to display/print only those layers required for a particular project. For instance you may have initially plumped for a visitor guide, then like Bailey’s wish to create a pub guide. “We simply switched visitor information off and added a pub layer.”
We are considered expert in the production of town centre maps and would be delighted to give advice. One client remarked “you have answered questions I didn’t know existed”.

*Axonometric plan?
Axonometric maps commonly known as 3D are not new. Above is an extract of a 16th centuary copperplate engraved by Martin Van Valkenborgh circa 1556, London’s first printed map. It was said over some 450 years later by the Independent Newspaper that Silvermaze’s map of central London was “the finest example of 21st century 3D mapping.”
